ARTISTE OF THE YEAR AT THE
2016 VODAFONE GHANA MUSIC AWARDS (VGMAS), EL, HAS STATED THAT HIS
COLLEAGUES, SARKODIE AND OMAR STERLING ARE BEASTS WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC.
According to EL, he has worked with both artistes
and on all occasions, he realised he had to do more.
His comments came on the back of assertions that he
has issues with Sarkodie, a reason he mentioned at the event that Omar Sterling
is a good rapper.
THE KOKO HIT-MAKER EXPLAINED THAT
HE MADE THOSE COMMENTS BECAUSE HE THOUGHT OMAR STERLING DID WELL WITH HIP-POP
THE YEAR UNDER REVIEW.
According to him, the comment was to consolidate
Omar Sterling.
He added that it was not to take
anything away from Sarkodie because he knows the prowess of the Hand to Mouth hit-maker.
“I have been in the studio with Omar
Sterling, I have been in the studio with Sark and they are beasts
and whenever I am in the studio with them, I have to step up my
game…” EL said.
Sarkodie’s ‘Hand to Mouth beat Kwaw
Kese’s Yakubu, Flowking Stone’s Fire Bon Dem, Omar Sterling’s Nineteen Ninety, Pappy Kojo’s Ay3 Late and EL’s All
Black to win Hip-hop Song of the Year while EL beat Pappy Kojo, Omar Sterling,
Sarkodie, VVIP and Guru to win the Hiplife/Hip-hop Ariste of the Year.
