Award winning movie director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso,
has stated that her latest political drama series Shampaign is her best motion
picture project ever.
According
to Shirley, Shampaign brings to life many of her thoughts and emotions on
societal issues.
She
also said that the manner in which the plots and sub-plots of the story of
Shampaign engaged her, during the writing and production processes, has been
like none other.
Speaking
to Citi Showbiz at the end of the premier of Shampaign‘s penultimate episodes
of 11 and 12, the CEO of Sparrow Productions said she hopes that her subsequent
projects will be as engaging and involving as Shampaign has been.
“I
think that it is my best so far, yes! I am very involved in Shampaign, in a way
that I don’t think I have been with any other project. [This might] also
because I wrote all thirteen episodes, by myself. So this is a story that is
all coming from deep within. I hope [that] with every other project we do, it
will be so dear to my heart like this one [has been and is].”
On
Friday, the Silverbird Cinemas at the Accra Mall were packed with film lovers,
who have followed the Shampaign series, since its first episode. Episodes 11
and 12 of Shampaign shall be screened throughout the week, every day, from 7pm
to 9pm at the West Hills and Accra Malls, for GHc 30 per ticket.
This
original motion picture series stars Joselyn Dumas, J.O.T Agyeman, Blossom
Chukwujekwu, Nana Aba Anamoah, John Dumelo, Fred Amugi, Zynnell Zuh, Akorfa
Adjeani-Asiedu, Anima Amisa Amoah, as well as many other stellar talents.
